SAFCEI has written to the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR) demanding urgent action over outstanding maintenance and safety concerns at Koeberg Nuclear Power Station. The letter raises concerns about delayed repairs, emergency preparedness, water supply systems, containment monitoring and corrosion protection, among other critical safety measures.
SAFCEI is calling for Koeberg to be shut down until the necessary repairs and assessments are completed, urging the regulator to fulfil its responsibility to protect the public and the environment.
