Webinar on Eskom’s Latest Electricity Tariff Increases

Eskom published its latest plans to hike electricity prices by 8.8% in 2027, another unaffordable increase far above inflation, widening the electricity poverty gap.

The webinar will unpack Eskom’s proposed tariff hike, including an explanation of what the planned Eskom Retail Tariff Structural Adjustment (ERTSA) will be and the proposed fixed charges. The window for comments is closing on 2nd October, so this webinar will give the tools to make a submission to Eskom.

The session will also help faith leaders, community organisations and members of the public understand the NERSA consultation process and prepare written submissions ahead of the 2 October 2026 deadline.
