What is South Africa’s National Food and Nutrition Security Plan, and how can communities and community-based organisations engage in shaping its implementation?
The Plan provides a national framework for coordinated action to strengthen food and nutrition security across South Africa. It aims to support a more equitable, sustainable and resilient food system, while addressing hunger and malnutrition.
At its heart is the principle that everyone, at all times, should have physical, social and economic access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food that meets their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life.
