SAFCEI hosted the Cage-Free webinar on the True Cost of Egg Production across five Sub-Saharan African countries. This session delved into the financial and ethical aspects of egg production systems in South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, and Malawi. Our speaker, Sonia Mountford, founder of EATegrity, presented key findings that can drive meaningful policy and industry change.
The webinar aimed to provide information on the true costs of egg production in these countries and explore how these findings can support our Cage-Free Campaign, including advocacy efforts, public awareness initiatives, and grassroots mobilisation.
This research aims to provide the facts for our advocacy to improve industry practices and push for policy changes that align with our vision of phasing out cruel and unnecessary battery cages in the region.
