Earth Day 2021: Regional Interfaith Dialogue and Prayers for the Earth

SAFCEI hosted an online Regional Interfaith Dialogue on “What does your faith say about green funerals?” and Prayers for the Earth for #EarthDay

Speakers included Ezelle Theunissen (Buddhist) Pirira Ndaferankhande (Catholic, Malawi), Sheikh Ismail Keraan (Muslim, District Six), Dr. Nokuzola Mndende (African Traditional, Icamagu Spirituality) and Susan Brice (Head of Cemetery Management, CoCT).

31 Faith leaders from South Africa, Malawi, Uganda, and Zimbabwe attended. Prayers for the Earth included prayers by African Traditional, Bahai, Buddhist, Christian,Jewish, Khoi Traditional, Muslim, and Quaker.
