A short overview of Ecofeminism

Our focus today is on the statistic that ecological destruction affects the women of the world in a major way, specifically women of the "Two- Thirds-world". The "Two- Thirds -world" make up two-thirds of the world's landmass: Latin-America, Africa, Asia and Oceania. Women make up just about 50% of the world's population.
The field of ecofeminism focuses on this issue specifically and can help us appreciate the role of women in the fight against climate change as well as protest the way women are affected by it.

Who we are
SAFCEI (Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute) is a multi-faith organisation committed to supporting faith leaders and their communities in Southern Africa to increase awareness, understanding and action on eco-justice, sustainable living and climate change.
