Webinar - Unpacking the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and Its Implications for South Africa - 26 March 2025

  • Published:

You are invited to join us for an insightful webinar on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its implications for South Africa's Just Transition. The webinar will be held online via Zoom on 26 March 2025 from 10:00 to 12:00 (SAST).

This session will explore the EU's implementation of the CBAM, which restricts the trade of goods produced through carbon-intensive methods between the EU and its trading partners. Given South Africa’s carbon-intensive energy system, this policy could have significant implications for our country.

Malte Killander, a Master's student in Globalization, Environment, and Social Change at Stockholm University, will be presenting his research on CBAM that he conducted for SAFCEI last year.
