Join us for a workshop to prepare for the National Energy Regulator (NERSA) public consultation regarding Eskom’s electricity tariff increase request. The workshop will take place on 30 October from 09:00 to 15:00 (SAST) at Community House, Salt River, Cape Town.
Eskom has requested multiple tariff increases over the next three financial years, risking affordability for millions and further straining struggling households, businesses, and South Africa’s fragile economy. To prepare communities for public consultations, SAFCEI and faith leader Lydia Petersen will host a workshop to inform community members and the public about the tariff increases and the consultation process.
🗓️ Date: 30 October 2024 ⏰ Time: 09:00 - 15:00 (SAST) 📍 Location: Community House, 41 Salt River Rd, Salt River, Cape Town, 7925
The workshop will provide a clear understanding of the proposed tariff increases and the consultation process, preparing participants for submissions at the NERSA hearings. It will highlight the importance of public participation in shaping energy policy and promote collaboration among participants to strengthen our advocacy efforts.
Please confirm your attendance by emailing Mishkah Moerat at mishkah@safcei.org.za by 28 October 2024.
