Please join us for an important information session webinar on the implications of the "Green Revolution" in Africa: The Hidden Costs of Industrial Farming and SAFCEI’s Call for Reparations, on 14 August 2025 from 11:30 to 12:30 (SAST) via Zoom.
This one-hour session will explore the environmental, social, and ethical harms caused by industrial agriculture in Africa. This model, driven by AGRA (formerly Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa) and heavily funded by the Gates Foundation, has led to widespread harm to smallholder farmers, degraded ecosystems, and weakened local food systems.
Date: Thursday, 14 August 2025
Time: 11:30 – 12:30 (SAST)
Platform: Zoom

We are demanding reparations for social and ecological damage and a realignment of funding priorities toward truly sustainable, agroecological farming models with this open letter.
Since 2021, we have been campaigning to get the Gates Foundation to stop funding industrial agriculture in Africa, but there has been no meaningful response. The harms caused to soil, farmers, and ecosystems persist—and so does our commitment.
So far, over 300 African faith leaders have signed. We aim to reach over 600. Please add your voice and share widely within your faith communities and networks. Every signature matters.
We look forward to your participation.
