Energy Justice

Working together for Energy Justice in Southern Africa
Accessible, affordable and sustainable energy for everyone.

SAFCEI is committed to energy justice and to ensuring that people of faith are informed about our energy choices, and the right to participate in decisions that affect us. We oppose nuclear energy, uranium mining and fracking, and instead support just energy development.
To do this, we mobilise faith leaders and communities to advocate for energy justice. We build coalitions through faith networks, affected communities, allies and other partners working together to stop unethical energy projects that are harmful to the environment.
We also hold the state accountable to its citizens for its energy policies and processes, so that civil society is aware and informed about its energy choices and impacts.
We want an affordable, sustainable and climate-resilient energy system that is just and accessible to all.
