Environmentalist of the Year - South Africa's
Bishop Geoff Davies, SA’s “Green Bishop”, was named Environmentalist of the Year and received the Nick Steele Memorial Award for his inspiring work. The award is given in honour of the late legendary game ranger Nick Steele, and honours an environmentalist who has promoted the cause of conservation and whose work will leave a legacy for years to come.

Message to the People of God by Archbishop Thabo Makgoba
I will be taking part in a ‘Red Hot Faith-filled Climate Procession’ with other faith leaders, that will begin outside Parliament in Cape Town, and weave around the city centre before culminating in a picnic in the Company Gardens. We shall all be dressing in, or painting ourselves, red, to point to the current unacceptable overheating of our planet! We hope to have fun, as we make our voices heard!

Interfaith Leaders Back Climate Bill
WASHINGTON, Oct 8 (IPS) - An interfaith group of religious leaders Thursday announced the launch of DaySix.org, an initiative aimed at influencing the passage of Senate legislation on climate change.
The group hopes to motivate grassroots support among religious members of the U.S. public.
