The Global Work Party: Take action against climate change on 10 October
In recent months, the world has been shaken by what may well be early signs of climate change. It is impossible to be sure that the disastrous floods in Pakistan and the wildfires in Russia are symptoms of climate change, yet since 2010 is already shaping up to be the hottest since humans started keeping weather records, there's every chance they are.
The floods in Pakistan have destroyed hundreds of thousands of homes and displaced millions of people. And the effects of the Russian fires are already being felt right here in Southern Africa, as food price shocks have led to rioting in Mozambique and protest in other countries.
