SAFCEI’s pre-COP17 conferences for climate justice
With various partners, SAFCEI held three conferences during 2011 to try to map out some clear thinking for the engagement of African faith communities with issues of climate change and the environment.
- Durban, 21 September: Our Koinonia Conference in Botha’s Hill launched our We Have Faith campaign petition.
- Nairobi, 8 June: Read our statement Climate Justice for Sustainable Peace, developed at this conference of African faith leaders hosted by UNEP.
- Lusaka, 6 May: The Lusaka Faith Leaders Statement calls on South Africa to cuts its emissions and stop undermining the development of its neighbours.
